Can anyone tell what is the ""Hash:87292f869935d8f6a5f4e8a922951ee09430a694"" that is present in the 'Torrent Trackers' area of this page?

The Hash for torrents is like a unique ID to identify the file. You can compute the hash of any files or streams by taking each bytes of it and inject them in a mathematical "hashing" function. At the end of last "hashed" byte of your torrent's files it will be the Hash you asked for.

What other purposes ?
-Data integrity through communications is nearly always ensure. For example, if you use uTorrent, the "Force Re-Check" function will compare your downloaded files' hash with the origin hash. If it differs, you have downloaded bad pieces !!!
-If a small bit of your files changes, the hash will greatly change. So it will be extremely complex to produce a fake torrent with same hash. (not like parity checking, CRC...)
